Tomorrow is another great free show at Amoeba. Dilated People will be doing a small warm up set before their show at Whiskey A Go Go and to promote their new album Rhymesayers out tomorrow. One of the underground best rap groups in L.A., they've been in hiatus for about 8 years but are back. Don't miss out! Get their early, line starts at 6pm but will fill up fast.

LOCALS ONLY: The Moving Units play free show In Chinatown

Photo from the Moving Unit's Facebook

A running joke in High School with my friends and I was that we would always be going to the Moving Units last show. The dance punk band has had a few final shows back in my day, but you can catch them for free and all together in Chinatown this Saturday for Chinatown Summer Nights. Also on the line up are The Peach Kings, The New Electric Sound, Magic Bronson and others. Food trucks will be there until midnight, so make an evening of it. There will also be a calligraphy workshop. It's hard to be bored with all the free shows in L.A. this summer.

Missing out on Lollapalooza this year? Maybe you couldn't swing the tickets or the flight. Don't fret! Much like other music festivals (Coachella, Bonnaroo), you can stream a webcast of some of the acts. Opening day starts in 20 minutes!

Today's highlights include Blood Orange, Interpol, CHVRCHES, Jagwar Ma, Arctic Monkies, Lykke Li, and Phantogram.

Enjoy!

LOCALS ONLY: Free Omar Souleyman and De Lux Show Tomorrow

Photo From Wikipedia

As part of KCRW's Twilight Concert Series, Omar Souleyman and De Lux will be playing a free show tomorrow at the Santa Monica Pier. The show starts at 7:00pm but you'll probably want to get there an hour early to get a good spot and find parking. I haven't seen Omar Souleyman, but love his work. I have seen De Lux at First Fridays this year, and they put on a great show. De Lux is one of my new favorite artist as they really do feel like Talking Heads. Don't miss this show!
